Mr. Carlos Maldonado Pastrana, President of La Asociacion de Barranquitenos de New Jersey invited us to participate in the 6th Annual Arts and Music Fair at the Elwood Park, Newark, New Jersey. This was our second year of participation. The fair took place on Saturday, August 11th, 2012. A lot of people came to join in expressing their thoughts on peace. Little children came to the Fair with parents who helped them write down their thoughts on “What does Peace mean to you?” I was very glad to see children going to get their parents to participate. Husbands brought their wives and children to learn about my Peace Project. I had my finished artwork poster that contains the comments and pictures of the participants from last year displayed in our booth. Some of people who participated in my Peace project last year saw their pictures and their comments on the large poster and were very pleased. People, old and young were so kind and generous. They were enthusiastic and very glad to participate. They did not mind having their pictures taken. Some were looking forward to seeing next years finished artwork poster.
John’s pottery demonstration was very popular. He managed to teach few children how to throw pots. He could not resist the children persistently asking to learn how to throw the pots.
