Three Very Beautiful Italian Ladies
Yesterday was John’s birthday; he had his pottery’s students come to our place to have a gathering for the occasion after pottery class about 8 pm. I cooked some Pad Thai, Thai peanut sauce for pita bread and a variety of fresh vegetables to dip with sauce and also fried vegetable and shrimp dumpling. For desert I made stream Thai sweet rice with coconut cream and very sweet fresh mango on top. Arthur, one of John’s students called before they came saying, he would like to bring a birthday cake. I said OK. The gathering went well, all of his students came except Ria, she is in India. Steve Mace, one of John’s long time students did not come; he did not take the class this time due to health issues. I went to bed earlier than usual after we finished cleaned up. I got up around 9 am; after I had an apple and a glass of water then I went to the garden tending my plants. John opened our shop at 11 am. I was still in the garden enjoying my plants and could not do anything much because I was very tried from the food preparation the previous day.
I heared John calling me “Ing! Customers!” I went in the shop I saw people in the shop including three of the ladies in my work room that has my sculptures and Peace Project. John showed them my Peace Project and they were very interested. I found out later that they came from Italy to visit their former students studying at Rutgers University in Newark. I hope I get this information correct. One of the ladies, named, Veherato, really liked one of my finished artwork peace posters, 12”x10”. She said she like to purchase it for her daughter who works with a nonprofit organization in Africa. Again I hope I get this information correct. I told her I will give the poster to her without charge and I also gave her the information about my Peace Project. I told her to visit my website and study about my peace project which has no copyright; anybody can utilize it anywhere in the world. The more we talk about Peace the better. She is very gentle and nice. She appreciated the poster and liked my Peace Project. Roberta, who came with Veherato said she would like to have my Peace Poster for her students in Italy. Luckily I had one (Blank) Shadow of Peace Poster, 24” x 40” left, I decided to give it to her for her students to write the comments on “What does Peace mean to you?” when she said they are leaving US on August 6. I did not have enough Peace Project information to give to Tiziana. She said it is ok as they came together and she can copy from the others. I told them they can copy the information and give out to anybody, because my Peace Project is for everyone. You can start your own Peace Project page on your website and spread the word of Peace to as many people as you can just let me know and I can tell other people to visit your website.
Before Roberto, Tiziana and Veherato left our shop they showed their enthusiasm and interest in my Peace Project. I thanked them and told them that not everyone reacts like you. There are some people who just do not care and walk away or they will say “I will be back to write the comment on “What does Peace mean to you?” but almost 90% will never come back. I told them that you react this way because all of you know the value of having Peace in yourselves. You already had inner Peace in yourselves before you came to our place.
I no longer felt tired at all from the previous day of cooking after they left. I felt fulfilled and happy. I consider myself lucky to know these three beautiful Italian ladies. I took their pictures while they were writing comments on “What does Peace mean to you?” on my Shadow of Peace poster that I have in our shop for customers to record their comments. I showed them my little garden at our backyard. John came out and gave each of them one of his handmade little cups as souvenirs to remember us when they are home in Italy.

Roberta is writing her comments.
These are my three very beautiful Italian ladies.
Would you please look at me for a minute, Tiziana? I asked her before I snap the shot.
Veherato is writing her comments on “What does Peace mean to you?” in Italian.

I could not send all eleven pictures in one time. I had to send separate to each of them.
Tiziana responded my email after she received it.
Hi, Ing
Thanks for your mail and Photos .It was a really pleasant surprising meeting. We went out of your house and shop enchanted by your ideas, projects and family. Hi Roberta, Tiziana & Veherato,
I just finished writing a short blog about meeting the three of you in our shop. I would like to put it on my Ing Peace Project website. Would you mind if I include the pictures that I took with all of you in our shop in my blog? I will post the blog after I receive answers from all three of you.
All the Best,
Ing 8.3.12
Hi Ing,
thanks for your messages. We came back to Italy only yesterday morning, so I read your e-mails only today. You have really touched my heart with your sweet words! It was so great and pleasant also to me to have met a person like you with such a high degree of sensitivity and joy for life to be able to melt even the hardest rocky mountain. I’ll keep impressed the memory of the day spent together all my life! I’m sure that your project will be successful and favourably welcomed by everyone, being a life-time project. On one of the last days of our stay in New YorkI also collected some useful material (mainly photos) of all the peace-mission projects supported and financed by the United Nations on our visit to their federal buildings. What a marvellous experience! I will certainly use them as a didactically profitable material in my classes for our (your and my) project. As regards the photos you took with us on our visit to your shop and house, I would be really honoured if you could include them in your blog.
Let’s keep in touch for the future. Thanks for everything. With gratitude and sympathy, regards to your husband,
All the best,
Roberta Miscia.

Hi Roberta,
Your email is just like a glass of water on a hot dessert that quenches my thirst. This is one of the best emails that I have received. First of all I feel happy that all three of you got home safe. Secondly I consider myself a very lucky person to meet the three of you and we seem to have common idea about Peace and we seem to be happy with each other. In reality most people come and go without any further relationship. Some we connect to and others just vanish from our minds. But I kept thinking about three of you, not only because you like my artwork or my Peace project, but your manner and enthusiasm about things the outside world not only your own personal well being.
One significant value to me is that we are different races, nationality and beliefs (I mean religions or none religious) but we seem to connect in a common goal as a human beings. As I am hungry you are too. My happiness and your happiness are the same, only in our own ways. As a human being, if we see there is no different in our common need then we can be kind to one another and treat each other as we wish others to treat us. We are all connected. I came fromThailand and I met my husband who came from Wales and now I am connected to you who are Italian just as Galileo connected us to the moon and other planets in Universe. Sorry to talk so much this way as I believe you are already practice and understand what I am saying.
Tomorrow, Saturday, August 11, we will close our shop because we are participating in a Puerto Rican Fair at Elwood Park in Newark, New Jersey. I will present my Peace Project to the people who come to the fair and my husband, John, will demonstrate how to make pottery. If you want to view our participation you can visit my website, ( https://ingpeaceproject.com/peace-project-participations/peace-project-participation-peace-comes-to-5th-annual-arts-music-fair-elwood-park/). I gave one of my finished artworks, which is from Puerto Rican Fair at Elwood Park last year (2011) to your friend, Veherato.
Thank you so much for your email and your permission for posting your pictures in my blog. I will wait for Veherato and Tiziana to respond then I will post it and I will send you the link.
I sincerely admire your ability to write very eloquently. As I told you my education in university is Chemistry. I study only science subjects, and a few classes in English as the university requirement. So I never can master in writing English but I am so lucky I have a British and playwright person to help me. He is my generous husband. Do you mind if I post our exchange email in my website, because I think it might be interested in to some people to seeing how we all able to communicate with each other in civilize way all over the world, rather than miss understand and causing the conflict and causing unnecessary trouble among humankind.
The attachment is one of my writing about how I feel about teacher. Please take a look when you have time.
Please let me know about our Peace Project but just rest and enjoy summer with your friends and family before it will past us by. Any advice to improve my Peace Project will be very grateful. If you do not mind you can show my email to Veherato and Tiziana also.
With best wishes to all of you,

Black History Event at Lincoln School Newark, NJ
Posted on February 26, 2011 by Ing-On Vibulbhan-Watts
Hi Karma, I feel like I took a trip in adventure land. I really enjoyed the event. You are great in organizing and presentation of the activity over all. The children were very good in presenting the performance. I felt so special when the children gave the thank you speech to me. We all can do great thing in different ways. But I wish I have some of talented qualities that you have. In the classroom you are very good at presenting the ideas and questions to students and you also can remember all the student names from K grade to the higher ones. I don’t know how you can do that. I think you are the one who deserves to have the award not me. You are a talented and unique person. I am very lucky to have a chance to meet you. I read all the children writings and artworks. They are precious to me. The whole trip with the children in Lincoln School will be with me for the rest of my life.
Please say thank you to Mr. Montemurro and all the students who wrote such wonderful writing to me.
Take care,
Ing
My speech at Lincoln School:
Thank you very much. As I told Ms. Karma Cloud once. When I was young studying inThailand, from the first grade through high school, there was an important ritual at the beginning of every school year before classes began. All the students in the school would come together for a special ceremony to show our respect for the teachers. We would bring stick incense and flowers and a special kind of grass plant that grows and branches out quickly to represent the learning progress of the students. There is unique writing for this occasion that expresses how grateful the students are for the knowledge their teachers have given them. All the students recite this writing together for the teachers who sit to listen to their words.
We respected our teachers as if they were our second parents and the teachers were held in high regard for their integrity and kindness. I wish to continue this tradition by thanking all the teachers here and everywhere for their devotion to helping their students grow in every way possible. While in the classrooms talking with students and Ms. Cloud about my artwork, I thought to myself that this is an unbelievable dream come true. Over a year ago, I had an art exhibition with my husband at the gallery space of The University of Medicine and Dentistry, here in Newark. In the exhibition I displayed my artwork including, President Obama’s Inauguration Speech, his family portrait, “We are the World”. As I looked at the artworks I thought that it would make me happy if these artworks could be in classrooms for children to see and learn about the subjects of the artworks. Then I met Ms. Cloud when she came to our shop as part of the Open Doors tour of Newark Art Galleries.
Thank you so much Ms. Cloud and Principal, Montemurro for being kind enough to allow me to present and share my artwork with the students of Lincoln School.
I enjoyed being in the classrooms and discussing with students about the ideas expressed in the artworks. I also learned a lot from the students and teachers. For example from now on I would like to borrow the words of Ms. Morgan, the fifth grade teacher who told her students, “You are here to do something great you are here to make the world better”.
Today we come together, black, white, yellow, brown, to celebrate, Black History in this special event. In doing so we help make us into one humanity, and make the world a little better for all of us.
Thank you very much,
Ing-On Vibulbhan-Watts

Hi Mali&Jim,
How are you? I was very busy this past week. I went to Lincoln School on Thursday 17th & Friday 18th to talk to the 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd and k grades about my artworks. It was very successful. The students seem to learn a lot, asking questions about Dr. King, President Obama & his family and my new artwork of Gandhi. The students received my Obama’s poem at the end of the session. Some classes recited my poem but the enthusiastic class was the little ones in K grade. They formed a circle and repeating the poem after the art teacher. I think you will like it when you see the video.

Roberta emailed me on Tuesday, August 21, 2012
Hi Jng,
Thanks for your email. I’m really sorry for not being able to answer you before, but these days I’ve been on holiday in Tuscany (an extraordinarily picturesque Italian region, famous for being the cradle of Medieval and Renaissance Italian art) with my husband for a two-week stay. We’ve come back home only today, and I’ve been so glad to receive and read your email. Your words are touching and sincere. Thanks for speaking from your heart! I feel we have more than something in common, the way we are makes us shiny people also to the others. It’s a sort of positive “virus”, an irresistible infection that catches all minds and hearts. Your interior light is the
expression of a superior, celestial gift that makes you unique to everyone who meets you. You are in charge of sharing and spreading it, so that everybody can be easily won by it. There are so many moments and experiences in life that seem to leave us mostly the same as before, yet there are other few magic “natural” moments that work as real “illuminations” in our life. You and your husband are a bright and powerful light, which can make everybody feel at ease, reconciled with himself/herself. It seems to me as if we have known one another ever since! There are no stony limits
that can hold love, peace, friendship out. Peace is and will always be in the eyes of any dreamer. Martin Luther King was a great teacher and prophet…I do still want to be a dreamer like him, like you today (dreams help us to live better), even in a world which seems to turn also the best dream into a nightmare…We hope, on the contrary, that even a candle in the darkest night can be a promise of hope and a light that wins any form of discouragement. Peace is a thing of beauty and “a thing of beauty is a joy forever” , the Irish writer O. Wilde would write. I have also heard with pleasure about the Puerto Rican Fair that you held on August 11, inNewark. Was it successful? I feel that it couldn’t be otherwise, considering your “talented hands” and divine creativity! Thanks a lot for the art pottery gift, given to me by my colleague Paola Venerato during our flight back from theU.S.A.
Enjoy the rest of your summer holidays. Take care!
Best wishes and regards to your husband,
Roberta Miscia.
Hi Roberta,
I was glad to receive your sweet and encouraging email. I am glad you and your husband had a nice vacation in very beautiful Tuscany. Once channel 13, public television in America, had a special show on a bird‘s eye view of Tuscany. I really enjoyed the show. If you have any pictures of the place that you would like to share with others you can email the pictures to me and I can post them on my website. I decided to devote one page on my website especially for you and your friends fromItaly. When you send me the activities of your Peace Project I can post them on this page.
I just posted the writing about the three of you coming to our shop and getting to know about my Peace Project. The link is:
https://ingpeaceproject.com/three-very-beautiful-italian-ladies/
You and Tiziana have emailed me giving permission to post your pictures in the article. But I did not hear anything from Veherto. I decided to post all the pictures and I will send the email and link to her if she does not like to post her pictures I will remove them.
Yesterday I posted two Videos on YouTube:
1. “Butterflies & BeesBackyardGardenNewark” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVOGP0Kiqjc
Ing’s Butterflies & Bee Backyard Garden, Newark description
In downtownNewark,New Jersey, surrounded by walls of brick and concrete buildings there is a small plot of land. This peaceful garden is cultivated to create a little heaven on earth for a simple person who loves nature. In this garden red, pink, orange, yellow, purple, and other colors of beautiful flowers contrast with varying shades of green creating a palette of color reminiscent of a Monet artwork. There is a little table and a few chairs for one or more company to relax in the evening with a gentle breeze bringing the fragrance of Jasmine and other flowers mesmerizing us with peace and tranquility in a moment of utopia on earth.
Oh look! Monarch, swallowtail, and other butterflies are dancing around the flowers tasting the sweetness of nectar! A bee is hovering nearby cleverly drinking the nectar from a butterfly bush flower, for the first time teaching me how this is done. At the same time butterflies are using their long proboscis to pierce deep into the center of the flowers drinking up the nectar as though through a straw.
For many moons and many summers I have enjoyed my little plot of heaven on earth. Now it is a time for me to share this with others to help them calm down and enjoy nature before we leave this earth for good.

2. “Ing’s Peace Project Comes To Classroom”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjeT5qn7hRA
Ing’s Peace Project Comes to the Classroom Description
I am glad that more people are taking my peace project to use in the classroom. Children will replace us as the adults of the future and need to be aware of their lives and feelings. We as adults should take the initiative to cultivate the minds of our children to think in peaceful ways. For example in this video animation, “Shadow of Peace and the Young People of Academy Street Firehouse”, these children express their feelings with love and happiness. I spotted one child simply writing the word, “Mom”. This young one is probably longing for mother. Some say, “Peace means enjoying yourself”. One youngster at the 4-H Youth Development RCE ofEssexCounty
wrote, “Peace means love for all”. I particularly liked the phrase of one child, “Never hate, and just eat cake”. I hope that schools and other institutions will use my idea of, “Take ten minutes a year to cultivate children to have peace for life”.
Ing-On Vibulbhan-Watts, Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 12:05 P.M.
If you have time would you please take a look and let me know if you can open these videos and what do you think about them.
Thanks again for your kind words. I consider myself as a normal person who is lucky enough to be able to do what I like such as artwork and promotion of my peace project. I think a lot more people want to do things they like and promote good deeds to others but sometimes the circumstance and opportunities are not there. So everyday I consider myself lucky and try my best to help myself and others be happy with simple things in life. I realize that on occasion, unfortunately, people meet bad individuals and are forced to do the wrong things.
I am so lucky to know you and your friends. I feel the same “as if we have known one another ever since!” And the Peace Project is binding us even more firmly. Let us join together to promote Peace to more people, in America, Europe Asia and around the globe!
The Puerto Rican Fair was very successful. People of all age, young, and old and in between came to express their thought on “What does Peace Mean to you?” I am organizing the remaining pictures and writing about the festival and posting it on my website. I posted part one on my website and three more parts will be posted in the future. My husband’s pottery demonstration was very popular also. He managed to spend some time teaching some youngsters how to throw pots.
Please say hello to your husband and family. I am sure your students will be glad to see you.
Take care,
Ing
PS. When you have time would you please translate my Peace Poem into Italian? I will appreciate it very much.
Thanks, Ing
