At 19:00 PM on 3.20.2011 John emailed me from ManhattanTheatreSource, NYC:
Hi Ing,
I didn’t realize that tonight the show starts at seven, so I will be home an hour earlier tonight.
Love, John
At 20:53 PM on 3.20.2011 I emailed John from home:
Hi John,
I went out in the garden this evening. When I came inside the house I wrote what I felt in the writing that follows:
Over Disaster
Over disaster flowers still bloom,
My mother of 92 years lies dying in the hospital in Thailand,
Over disaster young daffodil flowers grow,
As disaster inJapan, earthquake and tsunami, leave people mourn,
Over disaster a Jade plant beautifully grows,
But the Nuclear plants in Japan spread radiation to milk and spinach,
Over disaster Sweet Williams grow visiting the first day of spring,
But the Libyan dictator, Moammar Gadhafi still lies to the world while killing his people,
Over disaster my little garden will grow,
I will be calm and tend my plants as if they are my children,
Over disaster I will try to keep Peace with myself,
Over disaster life goes on,
Over disaster my garden will give me Peace,
As the sun sets on my life I will go quietly,
Sleeping as the winter gardens do.

Most of the plants and butterflies from our garden are from previous years, accept the young Daffodils, the Jade plant and Sweet William plants are from this year. I took the pictures on Sunday, March 20, 2011. I enjoy growing my plants and waiting for the flowers to arrive. I enjoy taking pictures and video of the garden growing. What I enjoy the most is when I see people enjoy the photos of the beautiful plants and the flowers I have in the pictures. It feels very good when I tell people that these plants and flowers were born and grow from my own two hands. And I captured them with my camera so that they can remain beautiful forever. In summer time when the Swallowtail butterflies, Monarch butterflies and others come to drink the nectar from the butterfly bushes, marigolds, jasmines and other plants in our garden, my eyes look at the garden from the window in the kitchen when I make breakfast in the morning, lunch in the afternoon and evening dinner. But usually the butterflies come in the early afternoon. Then I hurry to snatch my camcorder or camera and spend time in the garden to be with the butterflies (my butterflies). I often hear John call me. “Ing customers are here!”. Or he will say, “Don’t stay too long or you will get sun burned!” I respond “OK, I will be there in a minute.” But my one minute is as long as the butterflies remain in the garden, which sometimes is about an hour or a couple of hours. One lucky year we saw eight Monarch butterflies come at the same time in the afternoon. But most of the time I see one or two butterflies come to drink the nectar from our garden at one time. I noticed that for a few years now, less butterflies come to our garden. I hope to see more beautiful butterflies this summer.
