Happy Thanksgiving, Scenery – Science – Street Art Plus More part 5

Thursday, November 22, 2018
From Ing-On Vibulbhan-Watts’s Google+ Community
The content of this post came from my Google+ site. I am thankful and appreciative of people who posted beautiful photographs and useful information in my community that I shared on my Google+ site. I decided to post the content from my Google+ site on the Blog page of my website, because the Google+ office had declared that the Google+ operation will be closed by August 2019. I am sorry it is happening because I just started to enjoy the fruitful contents posted by my community.
It has such a variety of knowledge, for example, Dirk Schonfeld posted, Street Art, from all over the world and he provides the information about the artwork that gives more meaning to the pictures in the posts. By doing so the viewers become students learning the different techniques and expressions from different countries. The people who posted their content then become teachers, providing knowledge to all the viewers.

Human Communication and Kindness
I took Kai, my grandson, just turned three years old for the first ride of his bicycle in the park. This Jazz flutist musician came to us and began to play children’s songs for Kai. Kai was very interested in the music. I asked the musician, “Can my grandson take pictures with you?” He gladly posed with Kai, who was delighted to do so.

Brian Eno: Behind The Reflection – BBC Click

Brian Eno: Behind The Reflection – BBC Click
Published on Apr 5, 2017
BBC Click’s Spencer Kelly spends an afternoon talking art, science, music and potatoes with music legend and godfather of ambient music Brian Eno. His new app, Reflection, is a “generative” piece of music that changes every time you listen. In this extended chat we look in-depth at the rules and maths behind Reflection, where notes are altered depending on certain probabilities. We also hear some of Eno’s other ground-breaking generative work, including a very human robot drummer, some super-evil funk and a robot guitarist that could give Nile Rogers a run for his money. We look at his sound and visual art, including 77 million paintings, get a sneak peek inside his notebooks, and find out how he invented the legendary Oblique Strategies cards. Why I have coffee with people who send me hate mail   ted.com

Özlem Cekic’s email inbox has been full of hate mail since 2007, when she won a seat in the Danish Parliament — becoming the first female Muslim to do so. At first she just deleted the emails, dismissing them as the work of fanatics, until one day a friend made an unexpected suggestion: to reach out to the hate mail writers and invite them to meet for coffee. Hundreds of “dialogue coffee” meetings later, Cekic shares how face-to-face conversation can be one of the most powerful forces to disarm hate — and challenges us all to engage with people we disagree with.
This talk was presented at “We the Future,” a special event in partnership with the Skoll Foundation and the United Nations Foundation.
About the speaker
Özlem Cekic · Bridge builder, author
Born in Turkey with Kurdish roots, Özlem Sara Cekic was one of the first women with a Muslim immigrant background to be elected to the Danish Parliament, where she served from 2007 to 2015.

How I turn negative online comments into positive offline conversations

How I turn negative online comments into positive offline conversations   ted.com

Digital creator Dylan Marron has racked up millions of views for projects like “Every Single Word” and “Sitting in Bathrooms With Trans People” — but he’s found that the flip side of success online is internet hate. Over time, he’s developed an unexpected coping mechanism: calling the people who leave him insensitive comments and asking a simple question: “Why did you write that?” In a thoughtful talk about how we interact online, Marron explains how sometimes the most subversive thing you can do is actually speak with people you disagree with, not simply at them.
This talk was presented at an official TED conference, and was featured by our editors on the home page.
About the speaker
Dylan Marron · Writer, performer
Dylan Marron takes complicated social issues and finds accessible ways to talk about them through interviews, short-form videos and satire.

I apologize for those people whose names I did not mention, all of us contribute time and energy to make our community richer in a lots of ways.
I admire people who spend their time collecting all this information and pictures to post on the Google+ project. Everything comes and goes as time dictates, including us, humans. What remains is evidence of hard work that becomes history to record for future generations to understand and learn from our present generation.
Thanks to Google+ while it lasts. I am glad to know people from this country, USA, and other countries around the world through Google+. Hopefully we all will go on to operate our own websites, like mine, or go on to other new collective websites. We will not stop just because Google+ closes their operation. I hope we all will continue to do work in different ventures and find more enjoyable ways to contribute knowledge to society as a whole.
