Beauty to the Last

The trail of a soft pink carpet

On the dark ground of mother earth

Patches of fresh green grass near by

Above are remnants of

Beautiful Cherry Blossoms

On the tree

Waiting for a gentle breeze

Flying and sliding down

To the pink carpet below

Walk carefully not to crush

The flowers

Descending down

Their beauty still lasts

Till the final blossom falls

To the ground

Hopefully we part earth gracefully

Leaving our legacy

For the next generation

Look at her final beauty

The trail of soft pink

Hugging the base

Of mother Cherry tree

I Am In Love

Golden water flows

By the cannel

Forsythia reflects

Turning water to gold

Floating over

White petals of Cherry Blossoms

Floating along

Where the water flows

A duck drifting along

Where the water flows

Flying over the little waterfall

White and bright pink Cherry Blossoms

Contrast the green bushes near by

Slender dark twigs

Of early spring branches

Lacing blue sky

Soon the twigs and branches

Will be covered with green

Dark still water

With a golden patch

Where white foams

Flow down to the waterfall

I am in love

With beauty of nature

Natural beauty

Fills my heart with joy

Earth Day at Branch Brook Park

Earth Day at Branch Brook Park

Newark, New Jersey

Earth Day celebration for us

Walking about in Branch Brook Park

Relief from our hibernation of winter cold

Spring arrives with Cherry Blossoms

Greeting us and others in full bloom

Families laughing

Taking pictures of each other

Would you please take our family picture?

Gladly the strangers hold the camera

Composing the best family portrait that one can

People enjoy the Cherry Blossoms

The weather is perfect

Not too hot and not too cold

Just like Goldilocks tasted the porridge

At the three bears cottage

Mothers and fathers

Hold babies in their arms

Others strolling with babies carriages

The little ones dressed in their best

Hide and seek under the blossom branches

The best place for little girls and boys

Laughter from the young ones

The sound of music in the air

We smile with contentment

With the beauty of nature

And the happiness of us all

A happy individual makes a happy couple

A happy couple makes a happy family

Happy families make a happy

And a Peaceful society

Is achieved here

Haven on earth

With Cherry Blossoms

In Branch Brook Park

I wish no more

Peace and joy than this

To celebrate our earth

On her Earth Day

It can be everywhere

If people bring

Nature and peace

In their society

Then we all can celebrate

Earth Day

Every Day

I planned to post this project on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, the official Earth Day but I had problems with my computer so I had to postpone until today. On the other hand I believe that my Earth Day is everyday when I enjoy watching my plants grow.

Empire State Building, New York City

Empire State Building, New York City

Night Light with the Empire State Building

Broadway and 22nd-23rd Street, New York City, New York

On Tuesday, March 25, 2014

On Tuesday, March 25, 2014 I went to New York City with John.  John had his play “Passing at the Players” reading at 16 Gramercy Park S, New York City.  I was lucky to have some time walking about on Broadway and 22nd-23rd Street.  I enjoyed the night lights and the empire State Building.  Wherever I went I always saw the empire State Building standing tall, dressed in white lights.  She always looks good in any colors.  I wrote a small poem about her and I hope the video of the path that I traveled will allow you to enjoy the night lights in New York City.  Thanks to the musicians, the writes and people who produced the music New York, New York-On the Town by Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly and Jules Munshin, New York, New York by Lisa Minnelli. The music helps me to appreciate NYC even more.

An Old Friend

She is there

Standing tall

Above others

In the sky

She shines

With lights changing

To fit her soul

Everyone

All over the world

Comes to see her

But to New Yorkers

She is an old friend

First Flower of Spring Daffodils

Spring breeze greeting

First flowers of the year

Smiling Daffodils moving gently

Hi Ing!

It is nice to see you

I have rested well

Can you see how fresh I look?

Oh, you are so beautiful

My lovely Daffodils

I have waited for you

For a whole year

This is my first time

Coming out in the garden

To welcome you

Please stay a little longer this year

I will visit you every day

Till you say good bye

And retire to sleep again

Let us enjoy each other

Before the time for us to be apart

A year is a long time

For you to be away

But I always keep you in my heart

And appreciate your beauty

You make me happy

You always beautify the world

Science Friday on Clearing and Staining Fish

Science Friday on Clearing and Staining Fish

NPR on Friday, April 04, 2014

Today I listened to Science Friday on NPR; Ira Flatow, the host, talked about, Inside Insight Clearing and Staining Fish.  The scientist wanted to visualize the connective tissues of specimens.  The best procedure that the scientist found is Clearing and Staining Fish.  This procedure not only produces a good result it also gives rise to beautiful artwork.

I enjoyed listening and watching science shows from, Nova, National Geographic and other shows on PBS.  I feel good that I can learn more new things.  There is so much to be educated about and discover from the unknown for humanity to advance.  We need people to learn more and understand more about nature and science.  Some of us will spend time to do the experiments and researches on difference subjects and there will be some of us who just gain the knowledge from the others and give mental and physical support.  In doing so all the knowledge will be contributed to society as a whole.  If we think this way then there will be no time to waste on fighting and war.  Hopefully we will not produce more weapons to kill or produce toxic products just for financial gain.  We are all in the same world so if there is trouble somewhere sooner or later it will affect us all.

I wish there could be at least one hour a day of science shows everyday on NPR or PBS. I am sure NPR or PBS can find some knowledgeable people to produce shows for an audience to be captivated by exciting educational presentations.

Biomechanists use many high-tech tools such as MRI or CT scanning to visualize the connective tissues of specimens. But for Dr. Adam Summers of the University of Washington’s Friday Harbor Labs – none of these methods provide the inspiration of clearing and staining. Using a cocktail of chemicals, clearing and staining turns soft tissues transparent while tinting bones and cartilage bright red and blue. Preparing gobies, stingrays, and sharks in this manner has revealed to Dr. Adam Summers critical data while allowing him, and us, to appreciate the beauty of each fish’s form.

The Fern Walks upon My Sculptures

The Fern Walks upon My Sculptures

Day by day

Inch by inch

A fern walks upon my sculptures

Stems extending

Touching and embracing

Leaping over

The Thai classical dancer

Of my artwork

Passing over

Seeking light with stillness

Cleverly walking on

An umbrella of tiny leaves

Spreads over the little figures

Of my slave workers of the world sculpture

The healthy leaves of potato plants

Wrap around the Peace sculpture

Lying over and spreading out

Layers of leaves over

The Peace sign

Peace and Nature

Meeting at this moment

Enjoy it

Absorb it

Such a beautiful sight

At this moment

Peace comes alive
