Donald Trump’s Pardon Palooza – What Message Is Trump Sending With His Many Pardons?

Dec 23, 2020  Glenn Kirschner

Donald Trump seems to be on the “Friends and Family” pardon plan. What do Trump’s many pardons say about Donald Trump and what do they say about America? Update: Since recording this video, Trump has issued even more pardons and I’m sure he is not done yet. Stay tuned. Trump pardons 15, including 4 Blackwater defendants who killed 14 innocent, unarmed Iraqis.

Dec 22, 2020  Glenn Kirschner

Donald Trump grants 15 pardons: he pardoned Republican Congressman Chris Collins who committed financial crimes/insider trading, Republican Congressman Duncan Hunter who stole campaign money from his supporters, he pardoned George Papadopoulos who lied to the FBI about contacts with Russians. But worst of all, in my opinion, he pardoned the four Blackwater contractors who slaughtered 14 innocent, unarmed Iraqi men and women and injured 17 others. My former office, the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, prosecuted those four defendant three times, trying to bring justice to the dozens of Iraqi citizens and their surviving family members. Trump’s pardons of these murderers is a horrific affront to victims rights the world over. The Tessellated and Elaborately Detailed Ceilings of Iranian Mosques

Colossal: The Tessellated and Elaborately Detailed Ceilings of Iranian Mosques

FEBRUARY 25, 2016  KATE SIERZPUTOWSKI

Celling of Hazrate-Masomeh’s mosque in Qom, Iran, all images courtesy of Mehrdad Rasoulifard (@m1rasoulifard)

Capturing the intricately tiled ceilings of centuries old mosques, Instagram photographer Mehrdad Rasoulifard (@m1rasoulifard) gives his followers both a history lesson and aesthetic treat. The ceilings are not only covered in rich patterns, but architecturally structured to appear like complex tessellations or honeycombs. The mosques are built to include spiraling series of domes and indents, causing the viewer to get lost in their disorienting beauty.

Often Iranian architecture utilizes symbolic geometry, incorporating an abundant use of circles and squares obvious in the photographed buildings’ symmetrical layouts. Popular colors incorporated into these tiled structures include gold, white, and turquoise which are typically layered onto dark blue backgrounds.

The oldest structure photographed is over 900-years-old which hints at the vast architectural history found in Iran. You can see more of the country’s detailed places of worship and observation on Rasoulifard’s Instagram. (via Designboom)

Have A Happy Holiday Everyone

Adventure at the Water Lily Pond with Bodhi and Kai

By Ing-On Vibulbhan-Watts

Kai is a young lad of five years old who is so proud of himself as the Best Brother Ever!

After Kai and his little nine month – old brother, Bodhi, filled their stomachs with delicious food that grandma Ing fed them, they are going for a ride.  Bodhi is ready to be in his walker.   Kai gets his mini truck out, putting a robe around the back of his truck and tied it on the front of Bodhi’s walker.  Then he starts to drive Bodhi around the house.  Kai and his brother cannot go outside because of the COVID 19 pandemics trouble.

At the end of the trip, Kai stops at the area that Grandma Ing is putting one of her large artworks, “By the Water Lily Pond”, on the hallway wall.  Bodhi touches the face of the girl in the artwork.  He murmurs, a sound, like, “Mom ma, Mom ma”.

Kai is interested in counting the number of butterflies in the artwork.

Then Kai turns to his grandma Ing and asks “How many Butterflies in your artwork, Grandma?”

Grandma Ing says “One big Swallowtail Butterfly in front of you, four small butterflies on your right-hand side and another big brown one above the girl’s head.

Grandma Ing continues, “One plus four, plus one, what is the total of number of butterflies?”

Kai cries out load “Grandma—–ma—–ma, It’s not time for learning.  It’s time for play.”

Then he opens his mouth wide and makes many funny faces.

Bodhi is really interested in the girl.  He keeps looking at her for a while.

Then he turns to grandma with a confused face as if to ask Grandma “Who is she?”.   He is too young to talk.  He only can make sounds like Ma – Ma or Da – Da.  The next word he probably says is Kai – Kai.

Bodhi shows his expression as though he wants to do something.

Then suddenly he appears next to the girl in the Water Lilly Pond with a Flower in his mouth.

Then he calls his brother “Kai, Kai come in the pond.”

Bodhi comes out of the pond and sits in front of the girl and watching her arrange the Water Lily Flowers.  Kai jumps into the pond and yells, “Bodhi, Bodhi, here I am in the pond.”

Bodhi moves closer to the girl and plays with and pats the cat, saying, “Hi Kitty cat, you are so cute.”

“Bodhi, Bodhi, I am up here!  There’s a big bee on the Water Lily Flower.  Bodhi!  Say hello to the Thai girl and boy.”

“Lady!  Can I have one of your flowers?”  Bodhi Takes one of the Water Lily Flowers from the tray.

“Bodhi!  Look!  I have some of Water Lily Flowers for you.”  Kai gets a big bunch of Water Lily Flowers from the pond.  “I am going to give one each to Mommy, and Daddy.  How about we give two flowers to Papa?  I’ll give one to Nana, one to Pa, one to Grandma Ing and one to Grandpa John.  I think I have enough for everyone.”

Bodhi tries to have a conversation with the girl.  “How are you lady?  I like sitting here.  The weather is very nice by the Pond.  Do you like it, Lady?”

“Hay!  Bodhi!  Come in the water!  It’s fun to swim.  You can see fish, crabs, frogs and other fun things.”  Kai wants Bodhi to join him.

“Kai! I see the mother duck, and baby duck.  Do you see the parrot flying this way?  I love this Pond.  We can see all kind of animals.  They’re so beautiful.  I love them all.”  Bodhi is happy to be outside of the house in nature.

“Bodhi!  I am very close to the ducks.  The duckling is so cute.  Yes, I see the parrot flying my way.”  Kai is happy to be in the water.

“I love to play with these Flowers.   Kai! From here I see a lot of butterflies.  Hey Kai, look at the beautiful swallowtail Butterfly!”  Bodhi is very interested in the butterfly.

Come on Bodhi!  Jump in the water!  You’ll like it.  I ‘ll teach you how to swim”.  Kai is having a very good time.  “Thank you, Brother Kai, but I love to sit up here seeing all the Water Lilies and animals around the pond.”  Bodhi smiles happily.

Grandma Ing has woken up from day dream and wishes that her two grandsons can go to the park or someplace outdoors rather than staying in the house all the time.  Hopefully, the vaccine for COVID 19 will help improve the situation, and prevent people from getting the virus. Then we can go out to enjoy nature and people can come together again.  Especially, in spring we love to celebrate the cherry blossoms and have lunch together with the family and friends at Branch brook park, in Newark, New Jersey, USA.

I produced “By the Water Lily Pond” in 1998.”

Does Vitamin D help with Immunity? || Vitamin D and Covid 19

May 31, 2020  Doctor Mike Hansen

Does Vitamin D help with Immunity? || Vitamin D and Covid 19 #covid #covid19 #coronavirus COVID Update Today by Doctor Mike Hansen (YouTube Video Playlist) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list… Hopefully, YT does not take this video down, as it’s all based on medical studies. If they keep doing this, I will have to upload my videos to a different website. The Vitamin D supplement that I take: https://amzn.to/2zjaqqb Mentioned Video: Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) and Vitamin D2 (Ergocalciferol) and Calcitriol Video Link: https://youtu.be/yf8uYzgMsEw So what does not having enough vitamin D have to do with COVID 19? And IF insufficient vitamin D levels CAUSE more severe disease, why is that? Well, I have to first clarify that it’s not proven that insufficient vitamin D levels lead to worse outcomes. But while it hasn’t been proven, it also certainly hasn’t been disproven. And there is more and more compelling evidence suggesting that lower levels lead to worse outcomes. And there’s no question that vitamin D plays an important role in our immune system. More and more studies are coming out that are sorting out its exact role in this capacity. But the link between poor vitamin D status and risk of certain infections remains cloudy. In 2017, a meta-analysis study consisted of 25 different randomized trials with about 11,000 patients in total, evaluating the incidence of acute respiratory infection. Vitamin D supplementation reduced the percentage of patients experiencing an acute respiratory tract infection. The incidence of URTI in the vitamin D group was 40.3%, compared to 42.2% in the placebo group. In a subgroup analysis, vitamin D supplementation was most effective in patients with vitamin D levels less than 10 ng/mL and those treated daily or weekly smaller doses instead of a huge single dose. The takeaway from this meta-analysis study is that being vitamin d deficient probably makes people more prone to getting upper respiratory infections and should take supplemental vitamin D. But people who have low levels should be taking supplemental vitamin D regardless. Vitamin D has major effects on nearly all our immune system cells, including dendritic cells, macrophages, and T and B lymphocytes. These immune cells have a receptor that binds to vitamin D, called the vitamin D receptor, or VDR. Here are some questions we still need answers to: 1) what level of vitamin D is adequate to protect against or minimize the impact of COVID 19? 2) What level of vitamin D is considered too high 3) should more and more people get their vitamin D levels checked, especially during this pandemic, when fewer and fewer people are physically going to the doctor? 4) should people just supplement themselves? If so, how much? These are all tough questions to answer, especially because we won’t have RCT results for vitamin D anytime soon. Given that low dose, vitamin D is pretty darn safe, it seems quite reasonable for people to take a low dose supplement, especially if they think they might not be getting enough from sunlight or their diet. Of course, ideally, you want to have a discussion with your doctor if possible. A common question is, How much Vitamin D should I take a day? Personally, I take 1,000 IU per day. I know that I’m not going to run anywhere near toxic levels of vitamin D with that dose, while at the same time, I know that I won’t be vitamin D deficient. They risk their lives in Siberia – One of the world’s most dangerous ways to school

Aug 31, 2020   Free High-Quality Documentaries

In Oymyakon, the cold controls everything. The town is located in eastern part of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), which belongs to Russia and is know as the world’s Pole of Cold. Nevertheless every morning the children march to school, the youngest just 6 years old. Making their way by temperatures of -50 degrees Celsius. Such circumstances would seem completely inconceivable for Europeans, but in the coldest town in the world, it is the beginning of an ordinary day. At least there is a school bus. But does it still work by temperatures of -50 degrees Celsius? The temperature controls the entire life here, not just the way to school. Running water? The pipes are broken, which is not surprising when the water literally freezes in the air. The inhabitants must melt blocks of ice in order to obtain water. How do the humans, the animals and the nature survive in such a unreal region? This film provides the answer.

Aachoo!! A Sneezing Pensioner Knocks Down a Row of Houses in New Banksy Work in Bristol

Colossal: Aachoo!! A Sneezing Pensioner Knocks Down a Row of Houses in New Banksy Work in Bristol

DECEMBER 10, 2020  CHRISTOPHER JOBSON

All images via the artist

In what could be interpreted as a tongue-in-cheek warning about not wearing a mask during the times of COVID-19, residents of Totterdown, Bristol, awoke to a new mural by the elusive artist Banksy. The work depicts an older pensioner sneezing her dentures out while subsequently knocking down an entire row of houses—a staged photo shared by the artist includes a tumbling man being knocked asunder by the germy gust. A wide shot reveals the location as Vale Street, noted for being the steepest street in Britain at a 22-degree incline. The new piece comes a few months after another site-specific work in Nottingham featuring a girl using a disassembled bicycle wheel as a hula hoop.

They risk their lives in Papua New Guinea – One of the world’s most dangerous ways to school

Jul 10, 2020   Free High-Quality Documentaries

They live in Papua New Guinea, an island in the Pacific Ocean, in the middle of one of the world’s largest rainforests. And some of them take a route to school which will blow your mind. That is certainly the case for 8-year-old Junior and his cousin Ruth. Their journey in the so-called ‘Land of 1000 Rivers’ is a five-day one which leads the students through jungles, in which new and unique animals are continuously being discovered, and in whose branches the notorious green tree python lurks. For the children these snakes are not just a threat but also a delicacy, because they hunt their own food every day, as well as climb steep mountainsides and cross countless rivers. Their journey to school is too risky to tackle alone; that is why father Michael accompanies his son and niece on this adventure. They travel over one hundred kilometres, and on this trip the children fear nothing more than the large Takali river. It separates their home – the jungle – from modern civilisation, and has already claimed the lives of many who have attempted to cross it. It is more than just a walk to school – It is a test in the vast jungle. And not all of the students will reach their destination…
