The GOP’s Senate chances are collapsing

Oct 15, 2020  CNN

Republicans’ chances of holding onto their Senate control are not looking so great. Not only do seats like Colorado and Arizona — both currently held by Republicans — appear to be all but lost for the GOP in 2020, but seats once considered safe are looking more like toss-ups. CNN’s Chris Cillizza explains how Republicans found themselves in this position. US investigating if emails connected to Russia disinformation against Biden

Oct 16, 2020  CNN

US authorities are investigating whether recently published emails that purport to detail the business dealings of Joe Biden’s son in Ukraine and China are connected to an ongoing Russian disinformation effort targeting the former vice president’s campaign, a US official and a congressional source briefed on the matter said. The conservative-leaning New York Post claimed in a series of articles this week that it obtained “smoking-gun” emails about Hunter Biden and his dealings in Ukraine. CNN has not determined the authenticity of the emails. President Donald Trump and his allies have used this topic to smear the Bidens over the past year and seized on the recent articles to attack Biden in the final weeks of the presidential election. The specific new allegations touch on the same topics as the Kremlin’s ongoing disinformation campaign against the Bidens, which the US intelligence community said this summer was intended to weaken Biden’s candidacy against Trump. The FBI is leading the investigation, the official and congressional source said. NBC was first to report the inquiry. The probe is part of a larger investigation into Russian disinformation that dates back to before the impeachment inquiry last fall. The alleged disinformation campaign is aimed at tying the former vice president to his son’s dealings with the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, according to US officials familiar with the matter. The New York Post says it obtained the emails through two Trump confidants: His personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and his former chief strategist Steve Bannon. Giuliani has openly coordinated with a known Russian agent to promote disinformation about the Bidens. The Washington Post reported Thursday the White House, and Trump personally, were warned in 2019 that Giuliani “was being used to feed Russian misinformation” to the President. Separately, Bannon was recently charged by the Justice Department with orchestrating a million-dollar fraud scheme and accused of deceiving thousands of donors to his nonprofit. In a Fox News interview Friday, Giuliani said Trump never mentioned the warning to him and that he hasn’t been told by US intelligence officials that he is peddling Russian disinformation. #hunterbiden #CNN #News

Trump again refuses to denounce QAnon

Oct 15, 2020  CNN

President Donald Trump doubled down on his refusal to denounce QAnon conspiracy theorists, saying in a nationally televised town hall that “they are very much against pedophilia” and he agrees with that sentiment. In a heated exchange, NBC News’ Savannah Guthrie asked Trump if he could state that the prevailing conspiracy devised by QAnon was not true. “I know nothing about QAnon,” Trump responded. “I just told you,” Guthrie said.

Trump fired back, saying, “What you tell me doesn’t necessarily make it fact.” QAnon’s main conspiracy theories — none based in fact — claim dozens of Satan-worshipping politicians and A-list celebrities work in tandem with governments around the globe to engage in child sex abuse. Followers also believe there is a “deep state” effort to annihilate Trump and that the President is secretly working to bust these pedophilic cabals. The President claimed that all he knows about the movement, which has had a prevalent presence at his campaign rallies, is that “they are very much against pedophilia” and that he agrees with that sentiment. Followers of the group — which has been labeled a domestic terror threat by the FBI — have also peddled baseless theories surrounding mass shootings and elections and have falsely claimed that 5G cellular networks are spreading the coronavirus. During the town hall, the President also tried to separate himself from his recent retweet of a conspiracy theory from an account linked to QAnon, which baselessly claimed that former Vice President Joe Biden orchestrated to have Seal Team Six killed to cover up the fake death of al Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden. “I know nothing about it,” Trump claimed. “That was a retweet — that was an opinion of somebody. And that was a retweet. I’ll put it out there. People can decide for themselves.” But Guthrie responded: “I don’t get that. You’re the President. You’re not like someone’s crazy uncle who can retweet whatever.” Trump has frequently used his social media platform to promote various QAnon-associated accounts and their related theories. He previously refused to condemn the group in August and went so far as to embrace their support. “I don’t know much about the movement other than I understand they like me very much, which I appreciate,” Trump said in August. “I have heard that it’s gaining in popularity,” Trump said, suggesting QAnon followers approved of how he’d handled social unrest in places such as Portland, Oregon. “I’ve heard these are people that love our country and they just don’t like seeing it.” #Trump #DanaBash #CNN

Former Trump chief of staff unleashes on the President to friends

Oct 16, 2020  CNN

Former White House chief of staff, retired Marine Gen. John Kelly, has told friends that President Donald Trump “is the most flawed person” he’s ever known. “The depths of his dishonesty is just astounding to me. The dishonesty, the transactional nature of every relationship, though it’s more pathetic than anything else. He is the most flawed person I have ever met in my life,” the retired Marine general has told friends, CNN has learned. The reporting comes from a new CNN special scheduled to air Sunday night, “The Insiders: A Warning from Former Trump Officials,” in which former senior administration officials — including former national security adviser John Bolton, former Health and Human Services scientist Rick Bright and former Department of Homeland Security general counsel John Mitnick — explain why they think the President is unfit for office. Kelly’s sentiments about the President’s transactional nature and dishonesty have been shared by other former members of the Trump administration who also appear in the special. #Trump #CNN #News

Katharina Grosse’s latest installation transcends the boundaries of the Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart as it erupts into a sprawling kaleidoscope. From varicolored surges inside to the vast paintings on the ground and nearby outdoor walls, “It Wasn’t Us” is an expansive artwork on the site of a former railway building. As visitors walk throughout the work, the abstract forms swell in various directions, creating a new visual at each angle. “I painted my way out of the building,” Grosse (previously) said about the site-specific project.

“It Wasn’t Us” will be on view at the Berlin museum until October 1, 2021, and if you can’t experience it in person, watch the immersive video and interview with the artist below. Remembering 9/11

By Ing-On Vibulbhan-Watts

John Watts, my husband enjoyed being on the plane, sipping a drink after a nice Indian curry meal on the flight.  John was watching a movie while I tried to find the best position to sleep in until we landed at Heathrow Airport, UK. It took about six hours from Newark Airport, USA to Heathrow Airport, UK.  From Heathrow Airport we took the bus to Swansea where we had to sit for five hours.  At about 3:00 PM we reached the bus stop in Swansea. A Taxi man drove us to Phyllis’ house, John’s sister for duration of about fifteen minutes.

“Do you know the World Trade Center collapsed?”

The taxi man asked us while he took our luggage out from the trunk.

“No!  It is impossible.  We just came from World Trade Center.”

We responded.

“Two planes hit the twin towers.”

The taxi man gave us more information.

After greeting Phyllis, we ran in the living room and turned on the TV and found out that there were no Twin Towers any more.  We learned that the terrorists hijacked the airplanes and used planes as weapons to destroy the buildings and people on the plane and thousand more in the World Trade Center Towers.  We also learned about the disasters in Washington DC and Pennsylvania.

We spent most of our trip, almost a month, watching the TV to find out about the news of WTC disaster.  We were gathering newspapers for more information also.  We made a lot of phone calls to our daughter who was home in Newark, NJ, USA.  ———

I began doing the artwork relating to WTC, a few ceramic sculptures as a Memorial for the Twin Towers.  I kept my artwork to myself.  I showed them to only few people who were close to me.  I did not want to provoke negative feelings or bad memories in others.  I felt such sadness about this horrible event.  It is the same sadness for any horrible event such as Holocausts, the nuclear bombs in Japan, the killing field in Cambodia, in Rwanda and other places in the world.  We humans never learn to be civilized.  We seem so quickly to forget the horrible events that took place and then bad things happen again.  We kill each other directly and indirectly.  The indirect actions of corruption, greed and power hunger cause direct action to surface.  Innocent people will always end up suffering the effects.  Hopefully we will be wiser and able to learn from past events and improve our human race to be able to live with each other in peaceful coexistence.

The followings are the pictures of my sculptures I produced on March 16, 2002 I made especially as a memorial to the Twin Towers and the people who lost in these events.  I also produced artwork that related to the event of World Trade Center disaster.

The description of WTC memorial:

Two towers stand erect, supported by two long panels.  Outside of two panels are animal designs in one side and the garden and plants on the other side.  The long path between the two towers inside panels is blank spaces which can be the area that the loved ones or any ones express their thought in writing.  And the corridor between two panels can be the place for children to play hide and seek.

I made this small-scale Twin Towers sculpture as a replica for loved ones or any ones who comes to mourn, let go of sadness and to remember the loss.  I hope we can realize that we should enjoy and appreciate one and other while we are still alive.

Memorial to World Trade Center

Time to mourn

Time to cry

Wipe the sadness away

Time to remember

Time to live

Get up and go

Work awaits

I will go on

Remembering the past

With heavy heart

When you are apart

Ing-On Vibulbhan-Watts, Sunday, September 11, 2011, 5:57 AM

Lost Hope

Little girl feels

Little girl hurts

To feel the pain so young

Her innocent lost

Even though it hasn’t begun

We all lost our innocent and freedom

Innocent of hoping working hard

We will be better some day

But freedom lost

Sudden someone comes

And take the hope away

Ing-On Vibulbhan-Watts, Sunday, September 4, 2011, 9:45 PM

On Tuesday, September 11, 2001 a total of 343 firefighters died with thousands of innocent civilians in the World Trade Center and other locations. Their lives were taken away by fanatic, brainwashed believers of a distorted version of their own religion.  If the hijackers believe in humankind and nature, they would not kill themselves and others.  So, one should always learn to questions what one is told to believe.

I salute all the brave firefighters and others who risk their lives saving others.  May peace be with the brave firefighters, all their families and the others.

Respectfully yours,

Ing-On Vibulbhan-Watts, Friday, August 8, 2003

Flowers from my little garden

Floating in the air

Touching each soul

Seeing beautiful things

Just wait for a little while

Remembering 9/11

As we mourn the World Trade Center disaster – 9/11 this year, we are also mourning for more than 190,000 people so far, who passed away from COVID – 19.  We could not prevent the World Trade Center disaster – 9/11 because it came with a surprise attack from the terrorists within a short period of time.  But COVID – 19 started at the end of last year (2019).  Mr. Trump had knowledge about the deadly virus and knew that it was an air born disease and that it was not only dangerous to older people, but also to younger people.  Mr. Trump keeps lying to American citizens that everything is going to be O.K.   He never organizes or tries to warn or help people prepare, protecting them from getting the deadly virus.  Instead he tells people to go to work and pushes children to go to schools that do not have the time or finances to prepare for the safety of the children.  Mr. Bob Woodward’s Book, called, “RAGE”, and his tape recordings of Mr. Trump’s voice prove to everyone that he had knowledge about the deadly virus- COVID – 19 since the beginning of this year (2020).   He keeps on lying every time he talks to the press or goes to his rallies.  He never puts a mask on and tells his followers that it is OK not to wear masks or to social distance.

The following are news reports from different media talking about Mr. Bob Woodward’s book, RAGE and tape recordings of Mr. Trump’s voice.

The New York Times: 5 Takeaways From ‘Rage,’ Bob Woodward’s New Book About Trump

Mr. Woodward reveals that President Trump sought to play down the severity of the coronavirus and repeatedly denigrated the U.S. military.

President Trump described his chemistry with the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, to the journalist Bob Woodward, saying: “You meet a woman. In one second, you know whether or not it’s going to happen.” Credit…Erin Schaff/The New York Times

By Aishvarya Kavi  Sept. 9, 2020

“This is deadly stuff,” President Trump said of the coronavirus in a Feb. 7 interview with the journalist Bob Woodward for his upcoming book, “Rage.” But it was a vastly different story than he was telling the public at the time. Mr. Trump would later admit to Mr. Woodward that publicly, he “wanted to always” play down the severity of the virus.

Mr. Woodward conducted 18 interviews with the president for the book, which goes on sale next week. Mr. Trump also granted Mr. Woodward access to top officials inside the White House, revealing the inner workings of the president and his administration.

Here are five takeaways.

Mr. Trump minimized the risks of the coronavirus to the American public early in the year.

Despite knowing that the virus was “deadly” and highly contagious, he often publicly said the opposite, insisting that the virus would go away quickly.

“I wanted to always play it down,” Mr. Trump told Mr. Woodward on March 19. “I still like playing it down, because I don’t want to create a panic.”

And while he was saying publicly that children were “almost immune” to the virus, he told Mr. Woodward in March: “Just today and yesterday, some startling facts came out. It’s not just old, older. Young people too — plenty of young people.”

Latest Updates: The Coronavirus Outbreak

More live coverage: Markets

In April, as he began to urge the country to reopen, Mr. Trump told Mr. Woodward of the virus, “It’s so easily transmissible, you wouldn’t even believe it.”

Two of the president’s top officials thought he was “dangerous” and considered speaking out publicly.

Gen. Jim Mattis, Mr. Trump’s former defense secretary, is quoted describing Mr. Trump as “dangerous” and “unfit” for the presidency in a conversation with Dan Coats, the director of national intelligence at the time. Mr. Coats himself was haunted by the president’s Twitter feed and believed that Mr. Trump’s gentle approach to Russia reflected something more sinister, perhaps that Moscow had “something” on the president.

“Maybe at some point we’re going to have to stand up and speak out,” Mr. Mattis told Mr. Coats in May 2019, according to the book. “There may be a time when we have to take collective action.”

Ultimately neither official spoke out.

Mr. Trump repeatedly denigrated the U.S. military and his top generals.

Mr. Woodward quoted Mr. Trump denigrating senior American military officials to his trade adviser, Peter Navarro, during a 2017 meeting.

“They care more about their alliances than they do about trade deals,” the president said.

And in a discussion with Mr. Woodward, Mr. Trump called the U.S. military “suckers” for paying extensive costs to protect South Korea. Mr. Woodward wrote that he was stunned when the president said of South Korea, “We’re defending you, we’re allowing you to exist.”

Mr. Woodward also reports that Mr. Trump chewed out Mr. Coats after a briefing with reporters about the threat that Russia presented to the nation’s elections systems. Mr. Coats had gone further than he and the president had discussed beforehand.

When asked about the pain “Black people feel in this country,” Mr. Trump was unable to express empathy.

Mr. Woodward pointed out that both he and Mr. Trump were “white, privileged” and asked if Mr. Trump was working to “understand the anger and the pain, particularly, Black people feel in this country.”

Mr. Trump replied, “No,” and added: “You really drank the Kool-Aid, didn’t you? Just listen to you. Wow. No, I don’t feel that at all.”

Mr. Woodward writes that he tried to coax the president into speaking about his understanding of race. But Mr. Trump would only say over and over that the economy had been positive for Black people before the coronavirus led to an economic crisis.

Mr. Woodward gained insight into Mr. Trump’s relationships with the leaders of North Korea and Russia.

Mr. Trump provided Mr. Woodward with the details of letters between himself and the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, in which the two men fawn over each other. Mr. Kim wrote in one letter that their relationship was like a “fantasy film.”

In describing his chemistry with Mr. Kim, Mr. Trump said: “You meet a woman. In one second, you know whether or not it’s going to happen.”

Mr. Trump also complained about the various investigations into ties between his campaign and Russia, saying that they were affecting his abilities as president and his relationship with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia.

“Putin said to me in a meeting, he said, it’s a shame, because I know it’s very hard for you to make a deal with us. I said, you’re right,” Mr. Trump said.

About this data

Description

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus.

The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing. You can protect yourself by washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and avoiding close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with people who are unwell.

HOW IT SPREADS

Coronavirus disease spreads primarily through contact with an infected person when they cough or sneeze. It also spreads when a person touches a surface or object that has the virus on it, then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth.

Dr. Jill Biden on family, teaching, loss and levity

A community college teacher, even while serving as the second lady during the Obama administration, Dr. Jill Biden says she wants to continue to teach even if her husband, former vice president Joe Biden, wins the presidency. From 2009: Jill Biden, second lady of the land

Aug 9, 2020  CBS Sunday Morning

When you watch Dr. Jill Biden shaking every hand in sight, stuffing gift bags for soldiers, or inviting veterans and their families to the vice president’s house, you may be tempted to say, “Isn’t she nice!” That would be a mistake, as correspondent Rita Braver points out. According to Biden, she’d accept “‘energetic,’ ‘interesting,’ ‘vivacious,’ but ‘nice’ is blah. It’s just too bland. So, I never want to be ‘nice.'” (Originally broadcast December 13, 2009.) Bored Panda: Banksy Sponsored Rescue Boat To Help Refugees Crossing The Mediterranean

  Julija Svidrait? and Lukas Garnelis

Banksy, who is an anonymous England-based street artist and political activist, has been touching on the topic of the migrant crisis with his works for quite a while now. Recently, he/she (or they?) went one step further by funding the Louise Michel rescue boat to help refugees make it safely to Europe.

The ship is aimed to help those traversing from North Africa to Europe. Louise Michel is painted in a bright pink color and has Banksy’s artwork on it depicting a girl in a life vest holding a heart-shaped safety buoy.

This independent high-speed lifeboat was named after the 19th-century French feminist anarchist Louise Michel

Apparently, back in September 2019, Banksy sent a message to the captain of a number of NGO boats, Pia Klemp, because he wanted to help. “Hello Pia, I’ve read about your story in the papers. You sound like a badass,” Banksy’s letter read. “I am an artist from the UK and I’ve made some work about the migrant crisis, obviously I can’t keep the money. Could you use it to buy a new boat or something? Please let me know. Well done. Banksy.”

At first, Klemp thought that this letter was just a joke

The artist’s involvement is not hands-on: Banksy’s financially backing everything that the team is doing without being active in the operations, run by a 10-person crew of European activists. “Banksy won’t pretend that he knows better than us how to run a ship, and we won’t pretend to be artists,” Pia Klemp told The Guardian.

“Measuring 30 meters in length and capable of over 28 knots, she was bought with proceeds from the sale of Banksy artwork—who then decorated her with a fire extinguisher”

“The Louise Michel is a former French Navy boat we’ve customised to perform search and rescue. She is as agile as she is pink. Measuring 30 meters in length and capable of over 28 knots, she was bought with proceeds from the sale of Banksy artwork—who then decorated her with a fire extinguisher. She is captained and crewed by a team of rescue professionals drawn from across Europe. She runs on a flat hierarchy and a vegan diet,” reads the official website of the Louise Michel rescue boat.

The Louise Michel left the Spanish port of Burrinia in secret on August 18th

“To uphold maritime law and rescue anyone in peril without prejudice,” the team describes their mission on the website. “We onboard the Louise Michel believe we are all individuals, nationality should not make a difference to what rights one has and how we treat each other. We answer the SOS call of all those in distress, not just to save their souls—but our own.”

According to the International Organization for Migration, more than 100,000 migrants tried to cross the Mediterranean last year from North Africa with more than 1,200 dying in the attempt

Turns out, the whole planning of the mission happened in secrecy between London, Berlin, and Burriana. The crew didn’t want media attention to compromise their goals because it could have lead to European authorities attempting to thwart the mission. For this reason, the team agreed to release the news about the boat only after carrying out the first rescue.

As of now, the crew has rescued approximately 350 people

Apparently, a few days ago, the Louise Michel sent a distress call saying it was overloaded with migrants. Because of that, several of the most vulnerable ones were picked up by the Italian coast guard and the rest were transferred onto another vessel. “#LouiseMichel no longer has guests onboard, but the struggle of the survivors is not over,” the Louise Michel team wrote on their Twitter.

  • Harris in 2004 with California
  • District Attorney of San Francisco (2004–2011)
  • Public safety
  • Felony conviction rate
  • Harris as San Francisco District Attorney
  • Harris inherited a 50% felony conviction rate from Hallinan when she took over in 2004. During her tenure, the felony conviction rate rose to 53% in 2005, to 66% in 2006, the highest in a decade.[51]The felony conviction rate continued to rise, reaching 76% in 2009.[52] Convictions of drug dealers increased from 56% in 2003, to 74% in 2006.[52]
  • Harris was re-elected in 2007 when she ran unopposed.[53]
  • Non-violent crimes
  • In summer 2005, Harris created a unit to tackle environmental crimes.[54]Harris filed charges against the Alameda Publishing Corporation, and two men hired by the company’s previous owner, for dumping hazardous printing ink in San Francisco’s Bayview Fifty-gallon buckets of hazardous ink were left overturned and leaking. The corporation and its publishers were charged with unlawful disposal and transportation of hazardous waste and with depositing of hazardous substances on a road.[55][56] The two men subsequently pleaded guilty, and were sentenced to probation.[56]
  • Violent crimes
  • In the early 2000s, the City and County of San Franciscomurder rate per capita drastically outpaced the national average. Within the first six months of taking office, Harris cleared 27 of 74 backlogged homicide cases by settling 14 by plea bargain and taking 11 to trial; with 9 convictions and 2 hung juries, she attained an 81% success rate. She took 49 violent crime cases to trial and secured 36 convictions, for an 84% success rate.[63] From 2004 to 2006, Harris achieved an 87% conviction rate for homicides and a 90% conviction rate for all felony gun violations.[64]
  • Kamala Harris created a special Hate Crimes Unit, focusing on hate crimesagainst LGBT children and teens in schools.[74] In early 2006, Gwen Araujo, a 17-year-old American Latina transgender teenager, was murdered by two men who later used the “gay panic defense” before being convicted of second-degree murder. Harris, alongside Araujo’s mother Sylvia Guerrero, convened a two-day conference of at least 200 prosecutors and law enforcement officials nationwide to discuss strategies to counter such legal defenses.[75] Harris subsequently supported A.B. 1160, the Gwen Araujo Justice for Victims Act, advocating that California’s penal code include jury instructions to ignore bias, sympathy, prejudice, or public opinion in making their decision, also making mandatory for district attorney’s offices in California to educate prosecutors about panic strategies and how to prevent bias from affecting trial outcomes.[76] In September 2006, California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed A.B. 1160 into law; the law put California on record as declaring it contrary to public policy for defendants to be acquitted or convicted of a lesser included offense on the basis of appeals to “societal bias”.[76][77]
  • In August 2007, state assemblyman Mark Lenointroduced legislation to ban gun shows at the Cow Palace, joined by Harris, Police Chief Heather Fong, and Mayor Gavin Newsom. City leaders contended the shows were directly contributing to the proliferation of illegal guns and spiking homicide rates in San Francisco: Mayor Newsom earlier that month signed into law local legislation banning gun shows on city and county property. Leno alleged that merchants drove through the public housing developments nearby and illegally sold weapons to residents.[78] While the bill would stall, local opposition to the shows continued until the Cow Palace Board of Directors in 2019 voted to approve a statement banning all future gun shows.[79]

  • Recidivism and re-entry initiative
  • Death penalty

In 2011, Harris urged criminal penalties for parents of truant children as she did as District Attorney of San Francisco, allowing the court to defer judgment if the parent agreed to a mediation period to get their child back in school. Critics charged that local prosecutors implementing her directives were overzealous in their enforcement and that Harris’s policy adversely affected some families.[105] In 2013, Harris issued a report titled “In School + On Track”, which found that more than 250,000 elementary school students in the state were “chronically absent” and that the statewide truancy rate for elementary students in the 2012–2013 school year was nearly 30 percent, at a cost of nearly $1.4 billion to school districts, since funding is based on attendance rates.[106]

When asked during the debate in D.C., “How will your cabinet ensure the best advice on issues that affect women’s physical and financial health?” Biden committed to putting a woman on his ticket.

“If I’m elected president, my cabinet, my administration will look like the country, and I commit that I will, in fact, pick a woman to be vice president,” Biden says in the video above. “There are a number of women who are qualified to be president tomorrow. I would pick a woman to be my vice president.”

Bernie Sanders later dropped out of the race, leaving Biden as the presumptive Democratic nominee, but one question remained: who would he choose as his VP?

Today, we finally have an answer. This afternoon, the Biden camp confirmed that he has selected California senator Kamala Harris to be his running mate.

“I’ve decided that Kamala Harris is the best person to help me take this fight to Donald Trump and Mike Pence and then to lead this nation starting in January 2021,” Biden said Tuesday.

Harris, one of Biden’s former sparring partners, has been on a short list of VP contenders for weeks now. She made a name for herself during the debates, and while she doesn’t directly help Biden flip a swing state, having a person of color on the ticket is a key issue for many Democratic voters.

Last August, Biden said he was open to choosing a person of color as his running mate, suggesting it might be his preference. “Whomever I pick, preferably it will be someone who was of color and/or a different gender, but I’m not making that commitment until I know that the person I’m dealing with I can completely and thoroughly trust as authentic and on the same page [as me],” he said.

Below, a few of the other women who were thought to have been in the running for Biden’s VP.
